MEET AUSTIN

Documentary Wedding Filmmaker & Storyteller

Where the Frame First Focused

I’m a self taught filmmaker, born and raised in Los Angeles. I currently live in Omaha, Nebraska (I get asked why all the time so I’ll just go ahead and answer that now lol)
I moved to Omaha after high school and liked it so much I ended up staying for good. I’ve lived back and forth in California and Nebraska over the years, but I’ve finally put my roots down and built my first house here, so it’s now home for good!

Before I was born, my dad was a director & producer in Hollywood; creating productions and telling stories through film was his life. I grew up always listening to him pause a family movie to explain to us how or why something was filmed the way it was. All my life I could care less as it went in one ear and out the other.

At around 21, I found myself producing music and working at my local church in music and production. I spent 7 incredible years in that and created so many incredible friendships and memories, but I was ready to step into something different.

It was Christmas week of 2019 when I got a call from my step mom that my dad was in the ER with health issues. My brothers and I flew home to LA, and on New Year’s Eve, he passed away.
Everything changed for me then. I lost my dad abruptly and it took the literal life out of me. I felt like I lost my way and direction in life and didn’t know what to do or where I was going.

After a couple tough years of feeling directionless, one day in January of 2022, I borrowed a good friend’s Sony A7iii and hit record in my garage. I had never had an interest in video or storytelling, but I tried it out of boredom.

A very generous friend of mine saw the video I made and was impressed and asked me to make his company videos like that. The only problem was that I didn’t own a single piece of gear. Being as generous as he is, he told me he would buy me a camera and gear and all I would have to do is make the videos in “trade of service” and then keep the gear.

That lit a fire under me that I hadn’t felt in years, probably ever.

I became utterly obsessed with filming and editing; not exaggerating but not a day went buy for a year and a half where I wasn’t filming and editing something. I went all in. I paid my way around the country to film concerts, weddings and other stuff for free, I needed a portfolio and the experience!

One event led to another, one connection and friendship built more. I found myself 5 months into 2022 touring with artists I could only have dreamt of touring with, being in rooms, someone with my lack of experience, had no reason being in.

I’ve since built an unbelievable group of friends and family through simple storytelling, getting to experience and document memories around the country that I’ll hold onto for the rest of my life.

And I feel like I just started. As I’ve just entered my third year of storytelling through film, all I can think of is all my dad was teaching me, unbeknownst to both of us at the time. Although he never got to see me touch a camera or share an interest in him, I know he’s passed the torch and my purpose has been discovered.

Cheers to a lifetime of stories to be told!

I am committed to cinematic honesty that outlives the moment, capturing lasting truths that echo through generations.

MY STORY

a grounding reminder of your love

MY APPROACH

Your wedding day is a collection of genuine moments—an unguarded smile shared between the bride and groom, the quiet tear of a parent, a burst of laughter between lifelong friends, a glance that says everything without words. These are the details that breathe life into your story.

I observe and capture what naturally unfolds. My focus is on honoring those authentic moments of time—the candid connections, the spontaneous joy, the subtle emotions—that together form a timeless narrative.
My films aren’t made for fleeting likes or social feeds. They’re crafted for the moments your children and grandchildren will one day watch, feeling the same love and truth that filled the air on your once in a lifetime day. My work is a cinematic memoir—a way to hold onto the emotion and legacy of your wedding, curated to preserve something worth reliving.

feel what i am feeling

It all begins with a song for me. The tones and textures invoke the emotion. The way you tell your story through music can make all the difference.
